Madeleine Parry

Could you kill what you eat? Maddie, a 21 year old meat eater with her culinary future on the line, decides to find out. As both subject and host, Maddie works her way up the food chain from plant, fish, fowl to mammal. Maddie's grandmother introduces her to the task of killing and plucking a chicken, something her relatives have done for generations.

However hesitation and doubt results in a flawed attempt and Maddie's emotional breakdown. Maddie turns to Frank, an endearing sheep farmer to show her the process of professional slaughter. Despite hesitation and guilt, Maddie is encouraged to continue, and we see how she deals with literally getting blood on her hands.
